Kaley Cuoco, the star of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘The Flight Attendant’, turned heads at the premiere of her new Peacock series ‘Based on a True Story’ on Thursday, June 1, in West Hollywood. The actress wore a stunning black ensemble from the Michael Kors Fall 2023 Collection, featuring an oversized blazer with a lace bra underneath and a fringed pleated maxi skirt. She completed her look with Shay jewelry and black ‘Carolyne’ satin pumps by Manolo Blahnik.
‘Based on a True Story’ is a comedy thriller that follows three ordinary people who get involved in a scheme to profit from America’s obsession with true crime. Cuoco plays Ava Bartlett, a pregnant real estate agent who teams up with her husband Nathan (Chris Messina) and a former tennis star Matt (Tom Bateman) to extort a notorious serial killer known as the West Side Ripper. The show is based on the novel of the same name by Delphine de Vigan and will premiere on Peacock on June 8.
Cuoco, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, said she was drawn to the project because of its dark humor and twisted plot. “I love playing characters that are flawed and complicated and have a lot of layers,” she told reporters at the premiere. “This show is so fun and so crazy and so unexpected. You never know what’s going to happen next.”
The actress also praised her co-stars Messina and Bateman, saying they had great chemistry and made her laugh on set. “They are both amazing actors and hilarious human beings,” she said. “We had such a blast working together. They are like my brothers now.”
Cuoco, who recently won a Golden Globe nomination for her role in ‘The Flight Attendant’, said she was enjoying exploring different genres and challenging herself as an actor and producer. “I’m always looking for something new and different and exciting,” she said. “I feel very lucky to have these opportunities and to work with such talented people”. She was styled by Brad Goreski.
